In the fourth episode of the Muawiyah series, Omar bin Al-Khattab travels to the outskirts of Jerusalem, warning the people about the potential threat from the Romans. He assigns Abu Ubaidah to go to Homs with Kabir and suggests that Yazid take charge of Damascus. Muawiyah is told to strengthen the resolve of his army and return to Caesarea, as victory is near.

Meanwhile, Muawiyah receives devastating news that his son, Abdul Rahman, has been killed in a tragic accident. He rushes to his side, but arrives too late and finds that his son has already been buried. Devastated, Muawiyah returns to Caesarea and continues his mission.

The Plague Spreads

Later, a soldier informs Muawiyah that a plague has spread in Homs, and Omar bin Al-Khattab fears for his safety. Muawiyah sets off with his soldiers to Homs and meets with Abu Ubaidah, who tells him that the Romans are too powerful to fight. Muawiyah suggests making a truce with them, and when they meet, the Roman commander agrees.

Muawiyah and his soldiers then move to a small stream and rest, asking the Romans to wash themselves to prevent the spread of the plague. However, the plague continues to spread, taking its toll on Abu Ubaidah's soldiers. Yazid is also informed that the disease is spreading rapidly among his soldiers.

A Vision of Victory

In this episode, Muawiyah has a vision of a rat entering a tunnel, inspiring him to lead his soldiers in digging a tunnel that leads to the Qaysariyya Castle. After fighting off the Romans who poured hot tar on them, Muawiyah and his army successfully enter the castle.

Meanwhile, Yazid is injured and on his deathbed, where he tells Muawiyah that he sees himself as weak and waiting for his time to come. Yazid passes away, and Amr ibn Al-Khattab sends a message to Muawiyah, appointing him as the ruler of Syria and Jordan and urging him to establish justice, preserve rights, and prepare for the enemy.

A New Era Begins

As the episode comes to a close, Muawiyah returns to his wife and sister, warning them of the fast-spreading plague. The drama concludes with a message from Amr bin Al-Khattab, appointing Muawiyah over Syria and Jordan and urging him to establish justice and preserve rights.
